At Cognative Brew House, we believe that community is everything and we pride ourselves in creating a warm, welcoming environment that feels like a second home. From the friendly smile greeting you from behind the bar, to the mouth watering aromas, cozy furniture and intentionally designed space, we hope you feel right at home from the moment you walk through the door. We partner with local vendors for our coffee beans, baked goods, milk, beer and more so you know that you are investing in your local community with each drink you purchase. We welcome guests from all walks of life whether you are popping in for a coffee on your way to carpool or just stepped off one of our beautiful local trails.

Our retail area features our Cognative MTB house brand of mountain bike, cycling and outdoor apparel. We design and test all of our products right here in Western NC and are dedicated to high quality apparel for every outdoor enthusiast at accessible prices. 

Our founders, Austin and Andrea Bankert, have a passion for hospitality and cultivating community with a hands-on approach to managing Cognative and investing in our local community. We donate 2% of topline apparel revenue at Cognative MTB back to the local trail organizations that build, maintain and care for our local trails, and have donated over $70,000 since 2017 to these volunteer organizations.
